Tiger-Cats Add Two DBs

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that import defensive backs Montavis Pitts and Shannon Fitzhugh have been added to the team’s practice roster.

Pitts, a 6-1, 197-pound native of Loachapoka, Alabama attended training camp with the Ticats earlier this year. He played 11 games with Jacksonville State last season, recording 31 total tackles (26 solo), 1.5 tackles for losses and one fumble return. Pitts spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Auburn, where he started 13 of 37 games.

Fitzhugh, a 5-11, 200-pound native of Schaumburg, Illinois played for the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe in 2006. Prior to turning pro, the 25-year-old was a three-year starter at Western Illinois. He recorded 94 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one blocked kick in 39 games.
