Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have purchased the property located at 1 Jarvis Street in downtown Hamilton to house the team’s business and merchandising operations.
“I know I am speaking for all of the staff when I say that we are very excited to move into our new building,” said caretaker Bob Young. “The Tiger-Cats are truly proud to be part of the Hamilton community with our new home being right in the heart of this great city.”
On May 1st, 2007, the team will be open for business at the 42,000 sq ft building that will house all facets of the Ticats business operations, including, ticket sales, corporate sales, marketing, communications and gameday operations. The new location also includes a new retail store that will be open to the public for all ticket and merchandise needs.
“For 138 years, the Tiger Cats have brought investment, entertainment and professional football to the residents and fans of the Greater Hamilton Area,” said Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger. “The Ticats new home on Jarvis Street is another major step in the revitalization of our downtown core and an exciting opportunity for fans to support professional football in our community.”
The Ticats move to their new business office on 1 Jarvis Street after spending the past three seasons (2004-07) at 393 Main Street East. Owner Bob Young relocated the team’s business operations to the Main Street location shortly after purchasing the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club in November 2003.
