Cats Add Trio To Secondary

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have signed import defensive backs Sir James Delgardo, Dwight Anderson and Terrence Wood.

“Adding James, Dwight and Terrence adds a lot of quality depth to our secondary,” said general manager Marcel Desjardins. “All three players have solid credentials and get a chance to showcase their abilities at camp.”

Delgardo, a 5-11, 180-pound native of Seattle, Washington began his collegiate career at Western Washington before playing one season at Pima Community College and two seasons at UTEP. In 24 career NCAA games, the 25-year-old recorded 63 total tackles (44 unassisted), two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He also saw time as a kick returner, returning three kickoffs for 58 yards and five punts for 43 yards.

Anderson, a 5-10, 185-pound University of South Dakota product joins the Ticats after spending the past four seasons with NFL and Arena Football League teams. In his first two NFL seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Anderson played in a total of 15 games, recording five defensive tackles (4 solo), 12 tackles on special teams and returned four kickoffs 71 yards.

Wood, a 5-10, 185-pound native of San Francisco, California, spent the last two seasons playing arena football with both the Austin Wranglers and the Green Bay Blizzard. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons (1998-2001) at the University of Colorado where he appeared in 26 games making four starts at cornerback.
