START’EM
QB Dave Dickenson, BC – With his knee ready to go, Dickenson should be ripe to explode Friday against Edmonton’s paper-thin pass defence. Expect 325 yards and three touchdowns as Edmonton battles to keep a shootout close to the end.
QB Kerry Joseph, SSK – Joseph can’t miss because the Riders offensive revolves so much around him. In Saskatchewan’s 32-24 win two weeks ago over Calgary, Joseph was a part of 42 of 52 plays from scrimmage. He had 92 rushing yards, 211 yards passing and two touchdowns. He’s second in the league right now among starting quarterbacks averaging 24 fantasy points per game.
RB Charles Roberts, WPG – Through three games Blink has 20 more rush attempts than any other starter in the league. Two weeks ago, he ran 32 times for 133 yards and a touchdown against the Argos, while the Bombers struggled to get their passing game off the ground. There’s no reason to think he shouldn’t get at least his season average of 21 carries in Week 4.
RB Robert Edwards, MTL – Edwards is averaging 18 fantasy points per game so far and tops among CFL running backs with three rushing touchdowns. The former Georgia Bulldog had 86 yards and a touchdown earlier this year against the Ticats.
WR Jason Tucker, EDM – Similar to his 2005 campaign, Tucker’s found an early-season groove that’s made him impossible to keep off a fantasy roster. After three games, the fifth-year CFLer leads all receivers with 332 yards and 44 fantasy points. Of all the team’s in the league, Edmonton is most reliant on passing right now and Tucker is reaping the rewards from it.
SB Geroy Simon, BC – Toronto double-teamed Simon last week and he still managed to make seven catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Now he faces a pass defence that is floundering. The only other pick remotely close to Simon this week is Ben Cahoon in Montreal.
K Luca Congi, SSK – The rookie kicker from Simon Fraser was three-for-three on field goals with 12 points in the home-opener two weeks ago. The Riders are in a similar situation this weekend against Calgary. Congi should score in double-digits.
SIT’EM
QB Kevin Glenn, WPG – Glenn got off to a slow start this season, but made up for it with a 368-yard, three-touchdown performance in Week 3 against the Eskimos. The streaky quarterback and is capable of reproducing last week’s numbers, but likely won’t against a decent pass-defending club. Glenn completed 13-of-23 passes for 141 yards against the Argonauts a couple weeks back.
RB Josh Ranek, HAM – The former Renegade picked up 10 points last week while Corey Holmes sat at home with a bad ankle. Holmes will be back in the lineup Thursday so expect Ranek’s playing time, along with his production to decrease.
WR Chris Brazzell, WPG – Brazzell had three catches for 17 yards in the two games prior to breaking out for 181 yards and two scores in Week 3. Apart from being extremely hit and miss, he’s battling a groin pull that could limit him this week. Leave him out of your plans.
SB Terry Vaughn, HAM – Until Jason Maas gets on track, Vaughn’s scoring potential has a ceiling of about seven points.
K Sean Fleming, EDM – Fleming is struggling with consistency problems again this season. He’s missed three of his five field-goal attempts and has botched an extra point.
