TORONTO — The Canadian Football League announced on Thursday that two players have been fined after Week 3 action.

Edmonton Eskimos defensive back Monshadrik Hunter was fined for leading with the crown of his helmet in making contact with the head of Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver Lucky Whitehead.

Edmonton Eskimos defensive lineman Nick Usher was fined for leading with the crown of his helmet in making contact with the head of Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive lineman Geoff Gray.

As per league policy, the amounts of the player fines were not disclosed.

Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman Makana Henry was fined for unnecessary contact inside the bench area on Ottawa REDBLACKS quarterback Dominique Davis.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive lineman Eddy Wilson II was fined for a tourist hit on Toronto Argonauts kicker Ronnie Pfeffer.

TORONTO — The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced three fines on Thursday after the Division Semi-Finals.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive lineman Jackson Jeffcoat was handed a maximum fine following his high hit on Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Brandon Bridge.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive linemen Patrick Neufeld and Sukh Chungh were fined for late and unnecessary hits on Saskatchewan Roughrider players on Sunday.

As per league policy, the amount of the player fines was not disclosed.

TORONTO — CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie released the following statement on Sunday regarding the hit on Brandon Bridge during the Western Semi-Final:

“The high hit on Brandon Bridge late in the Western Semi-Final (play 137) was clearly a missed call. Watching this occur, and seeing via the ‘ref cam’ that the on-field referee’s view was blocked, my reaction is we need to look this off-season at allowing the Command Centre to make the call on plays such as this one, clear matters of player health and safety,” said Commissioner Randy Ambrosie. “We need to do more than admit an error. We need to search for a solution.”
