MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have signed defensive lineman Gabriel Knapton to the team’s practice roster.

Knapton, 30, is a five-year CFL veteran who spent the first four years of his CFL career with the Alouettes. He was traded by Montreal to the BC Lions ahead of the 2018 season, but after he was released by the Leos midway through the campaign, the Als brought him back for the final stretch of the year.

In 81 career games in the CFL, Knapton amassed 203 tackles, including 12 for losses, while registering 36 sacks.

He also forced two fumbles and made three knockdowns. Following his first CFL season in 2014, the Mead, CO native was voted the Alouettes’ Most Outstanding Rookie.

The Alouettes will face-off with the Edmonton Eskimos on Sunday in the Eastern Semi-Final. The two teams are set to kick-off at 1:00 p.m. ET.
