REGINA — Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Craig Dickenson told the media, including CFL.ca’s Jamie Nye, that quarterback Cody Fajardo pulled a muscle in his back and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Edmonton Eskimos.
Coach Dickenson says Fajardo pulled a muscle in his back. They’re hoping it’s ok. Not sure if he can go Saturday. #riders

Fajardo was just named the team’s nominee for the league’s Most Outstanding Player award on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has been a revelation for the Riders during his inaugural season in Saskatchewan.
He took over under centre in the first game of the season and has become the team’s leader. Through 17 games, Fajardo has thrown for 4,302 yards and 18 yards while rushing for 611 yards and an additional 10 scores on 107 carries.
Nye added in an earlier tweet that the injury appears to have happened during a closed practice.
A person within the #CFL texted me yesterday asking what happened to Fajardo. It was a closed practice so we didn't know.
Now we know something is going on.
He did do his post practice interviews for MOP nomination so I assume it shouldn't be extremely serious. We'll see.

In the case that Fajardo can’t play, Isaac Harker will get the start.
The Riders will welcome the Eskimos to Mosaic Stadium on Saturday for the final game of each team’s 2019 campaign. They kick off at 4:00 p.m. ET.
