EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have released national defensive back Neil King, the team announced on Tuesday.
King played in 12 games in 2018, his third season in the green and gold, accumulating 30 defensive tackles and two interceptions. Before joining the Eskimos in 2016, the Edmonton AB. native spent three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2013-2015), the team that drafted him 43rd overall in the 2013 CFL Draft.
The 30-year-old enjoyed his best CFL season in 2016 with Edmonton, where he collected a career-high in defensive tackles (49) and special teams tackles (13). In 81 career games, King has 119 defensive tackles, 38 special teams tackles, one sack, five interceptions and one forced fumble.
