Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup: Claws are out for cat fight rematch

The Canadian Press

HAMILTON — If this week’s rematch between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and BC Lions is anything like their first meeting last week, fans are in for a real treat.

BC completed an incredible comeback to defeat Hamilton last week at BC Place stadium, as Jonathon Jennings and Bryan Burnham connected for a touchdown and a game-tying two-point convert as time expired. The teams went back and forth in overtime and it was the home team that walked away with two points.

The Lions will be looking for their fourth win in a row at Tim Hortons Field this weekend while the Tiger-Cats eye improving to .500. It’ll be a tough task for the Leos, however, as they are 1-5 on the road so far this year.

Hamilton will have Brandon Banks back in the lineup this week after missing their star receiver in their last two games. The Lions secondary will have to keep Banks in check and their front seven will need to make Jeremiah Masoli uncomfortable in the pocket if they want to keep one of the league’s best offences off the scoreboard. The Lions defence is finding their stride in the second half of the season and will be looking to continue that this weekend.

Will the Lions sweep the home-and-home or will Hamilton get their revenge with a win? Find out on Saturday.

Pick Trend

The fans are overwhelmingly siding with the home team this week with 85 per cent picking the Tiger-Cats to win the rematch.

Don’t count out the visitors, however, as the Lions’ offence came alive last week at BC Place and has the potential for an upset (just ask Bryan Burnham).
