Nichols will remain at helm of Bombers offence as team returns from bye
WINNIPEG — While on the bye week there was only one topic of discussion in Winnipeg as it related to their city’s football team — would the Bombers stick with Matt Nichols under centre?
The Bombers have confirmed that indeed Nichols will remain the starter as Winnipeg gets ready for a Week 15 matchup with the Montreal Alouettes.
According to reports, Nichols took the majority of first team reps Monday morning as he works to shake off what has been a losing streak full of criticism from fans and media.
#Bombers HC Mike O'Shea has named Matt Nichols the starter Friday against the Montreal Alouettes, noting his entire body of work with the team and the 27 wins he has w/ Wpg since the 2015 season. Mentioned it didn't take much time at all to reach a decision. #wfp

The Bombers are on a four-game losing streak and many outside of the organization have asked for a QB change. Nichols was pulled in his last outing in a loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and replaced by backup Chris Streveler in the second half.
