There is a program in Canadian university football that has not made the playoffs in 15 years.
Said school won just four games over a six-year period (2011-16).
Said team is in the midst of a turnaround, having managed a 4-4 record — its best since 2001 — last season under the direction of coach Chris Bertoia.
Said program went out this week and beat the No. 4 team in the nation, regional rival Laurier, 34-32 away from home.
Tre Ford, the team’s quarterback, threw for 472 yards and trio of touchdowns — his 13th, 14th and 15th of the season in his fourth game.
He is a sophomore.
IT. IS. OVER!!!!!! @UWWarriorsFB take out the No. 4 @WLUAthletics 34-32 for their first #BattleofWaterloo victory since 2002 ‼️‼️‼️
Program Changing Victory! #goblackgogold 🖤💛🏈

Congratulations to Waterloo on shaking the OUA conference’s power balance to its core.
As for the surging Calgary Dinos out west? They chalked up a 37-28 win on the road against a nationally-ranked Saskatchewan team.
Adam Sinagra’s stat line:
32-40. 569 yards. 3 TDs. 0 INTs. Added 3 carries for 11 yards.
569 is the second-highest passing total in @USPORTSca history – only fellow Dino Greg Vavra has one-upped that with 627 on Oct. 7, 1983…also against Saskatchewan.#GoDinos pic.twitter.com/fBcGFhBHi2

Yep, that’s a pretty diabolical offence.
The surprise of Week 4 was in Regina, where Noah Picton and the Regina Rams — aided by a 119-yard performance from running back Kyle Borsa — stunned No. 6 UBC via 19-17 decision.
Elsewhere, powerhouses like No. 1 Western and No. 5 Montreal demolished opponents, with 76-3 and 43-11 wins against York and Sherbrooke respectively.

A strong 3-for-4 week for Toronto receiver Anthony Coombs leaves him two ‘wins’ clear atop the standings, but the rest of the group is bunched together. An overall 45-for-64 (.703) percentage on the season shows what we already knew: Our experts are good.
