#GreyCupFitUp: Off And Running

Guys we are into double digits for our 100 day health and wellness challenge for #GreyCupFitUp! If this is the first you are hearing about it you can learn a bit more here and I would encourage you to join in like Leigh below!

This year we are focused on not only on physical health but also on nutrition and mental wellness. To get personal, this has been important to me early on in this challenge. After travelling for the summer for CFL Game Time and Thursday Night Football on TSN I have been trying to recover and get into a routine. The long flights, time change, lack of routine, eating out took its toll after 11 weeks and  I didn’t bounce back to the gym like I’d hoped. I have felt weak and tired so it has been a longer process than I’ve expected. I’ve had to mix in a few wellness days; journal/reading, long walks to work and a even a massage. I hope you remember to be gentle with yourself too, no matter where you are in your health journey, we have to remember to be kind and generous with ourselves. For some this will be the greatest challenge of the next couple months.

I few of you have already adopted this which I have loved to see,

I also mega admire everyone who has been crushing their fitness goals! I went to an ab class at my gym and was so disappointed with how I did (still working on that kindness piece)…but the beauty of #GreyCupFitUp is the consistency ends up creating results quite quickly. Results for me this early on just means starting to feel strong and fit again – that is step 1. Some of you have been working hard all summer and I have been motivated by your posts and watching you make incredible progress. Which reminds me, please make sure to check in with others by searching #GreyCupFitUp on Instagram and Twitter and cheering this community on.

I know this challenge is going to change for a lot of you after this weekend. Back to school, back to work and the days (don’t hate me) start to get shorter and cooler. My advice; make the most of the warm, bright, summer like days we have now. There are still warm days ahead and hopefully you’ve had a little extra rest from a holiday or two this summer and if not maybe you can try this weekend – but regardless make the most of the summer like days to get your workouts and outdoor activities in. Once you’re into the routine of getting to the gym and you’re going regularly you’ll create a habit, so as the weather turns your workouts will almost feel automatic, at least that was what I found last year.

Enjoy an amazing Labour Day Weekend and be sure to keep checking in on Instagram and Twitter using #GreyCupFitUp! If you want to chat or need some encouragement you can always find me @BrodieLawson on Insta and Twitter! Happy, healthy, long weekend friends!
