REDBLACKS add DL Evan Gill to practice roster
OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS made a series of transactions to kick off the week leading up to Mark’s Labour Day Weekend.
The team announced that they have signed defensive lineman and former first-round pick Evan Gill to their practice roster. The former Manitoba Bisons standout was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2014 CFL Draft. Since then, he’s played in five games, tallying four tackles.
Ottawa also added national defensive lineman Dalton Houghton who, when attending his first mini-camp, was momentarily converted to an offensive lineman with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Minot State University product spent his entire collegiate career on the defensive side of the ball.
The release of two players was also announced by the REDBLACKS on Monday. International defensive back Reggie Daniels and national kicker Félix Ménard-Brière have both become free agents.
