Esks release DL Cox, DB McKnight
EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have released international defensive lineman Rakim Cox and international defensive back Maurice McKnight, the team announced Monday.
McKnight, 22, made 17 tackles and added one interception in six games for the Eskimos this season. Injuries forced him into the starting lineup, where he’s made five starts as a cornerback.
Cox was signed by the club after being released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The defensive tackle played three games with the Eskimos but failed to find the stat sheet.
After a 26-19 win over the Riders to move to 5-2, the Eskimos take on the BC Lions on Thursday Night Football in a trip to the west coast.
