CFL Fantasy Podcast, Week 3: Reveling in Streveler

TORONTO — After setting a season-high with 37.6 Fantasy points in just his second career start, Chris Streveler remains a hot topic in CFL Fantasy.

Checking in at $6,217, one of the lowest salaries among starters in Week 3, is the Bombers’ pivot a must-pick this week?

“I think I’m ready to put my stamp of approval on him,” said Hannah Nordman. “Two straight weeks, easily the best value of all the quarterbacks. Even at $6,000 I think he’s a steal and I’m pretty much ready to throw him in my lineup.”

Nordman joined Pat Steinberg and Jeff Krever to tackle the most pressing topics going into the third week of the season. The latest episode of the CFL Fantasy Podcast can be heard below:

Mike Reilly, Trevor Harris, Bo Levi Mitchell and Jeremiah Masoli all had big performances in Week 2, but none better than Streveler, who threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while adding 98 yards and another score on the ground.

The question now is whether he can continue to drive a consistent bargain.

Nordman and Steinberg poked some fun at Krever, who promised the previous week that Streveler wouldn’t be a good buy in Week 2, then discussed the merit of taking Streveler again in Week 3.

“Now there’s a little bit of tape out there on him,” said Krever. “Now teams are seeing what the Als did last week and what went wrong for them, and the week before what the Eskimos did to be successful.

“Now you’ve got a Ticats defence that seems to be improving, Delvin Breaux is back,” he added. “I’m curious to see what Jerry Glanville is going to do, who’s a rookie himself, in Week 3.”

The Podcast crew also discussed the running back situation in Saskatchewan, the emergence of Eric Rogers in Calgary and a possible sleeper in Jonathon Jennings.
