When LeSean McCoy heard where the kids he was huddling up with were from, he couldn’t help himself.
“Canada?!” The Buffalo Bills running back said to the Saskatchewan Junior Riders on Thursday night as they posed for pictures at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando. The Pro Bowler instantly told the JUNIOR RIDERS — the team whose allegiances were shown on the shin-high watermelon socks it wore — that his favourite team was the Toronto Argonauts.
Whether McCoy knew it or not, he’d just committed prairie blaspheme. It was on.
Forget the 10,092 career rushing yards. Forget the 1,100-plus yards rushed in 2017. Forget where they were standing, at a Pro Bowl event for the participants of the NFL-CFL flag football partnership tournament. All goodwill was temporarily thrown aside. This pack of kids from Saskatchewan let their instincts take over.
The booed LeSean McCoy.
The six-time Pro Bowler laughed and fired venom back at them, taunting them with the longest, most painful two-syllable comeback known to Saskatchewan fans imaginable, given how 2017 ended for them.
“Arrrrrrrgggooooooooos!”
Hopefully it’s the only loss that Team Canada takes this week & we’ll see more photos like this:
The team did get a proper send off as well.
🎥 » We had to give the Jr. Riders a proper send-off before they made their way to the #NFLFlag Championships during #ProBowl Week in Florida!
Best of luck, and rep 🇨🇦 proudly! #RiderPride #BringItIn pic.twitter.com/gPkN5tshUY
