Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup: Ticats play the spoiler vs. REDBLACKS

The Canadian Press

TORONTO — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have a chance to play the spoiler in this week’s Marquee Matchup.

While the Tabbies are out of playoff contention, they could spoil the REDBLACKS plans of taking over first in the East Division.

The Ottawa REDBLACKS sit just one point back of the Toronto Argonauts for first place in the East. A win this week puts them in first and will force Toronto into a must-win situation when they return from their bye in Week 20. A win for the Tiger-Cats keeps Ottawa in second and clinches the Argonauts’ ticket to hosting the Eastern Final.

Trevor Harris will be without his go-to receiver, Brad Sinopoli, who will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. Jerell Gavins will also miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The REDBLACKS will have to test their depth at both receiver and defensive back heading into the post-season.

Jeremiah Masoli, on the other hand, has his favourite target Brandon Banks rolling with a four-game streak of 100+ receiving yards. Alex Green will looking to continue his success in the back field and will give the REDBLACKS front seven a headache to try and contain.

In this week’s CFL.ca Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup, we’ll see if the REDBLACKS can take the pressure or if the Tiger-Cats will shake things up. Who are you taking?
