RotoExperts: Week 16 Fantasy Rankings

Winnipeg’s top three offensive weapons rank at or near the top of their respective position rankings, but attempting add all three to your Week 16 Fantasy lineup will cost dearly.

Pivot Matt Nichols ($12,881) and running back Andrew Harris ($9,036) rank atop the list, while receiver Darvin Adams ($7,134) is ranked only behind Edmonton’s Brandon Zylstra ($6,771). Attempting to stack your lineup with all three will “only” cost $29,051 of the allotted $40,000, which would leave $10,949 to fill the other four spots. Grabbing any two of the three puts a crimp into diversifying a lineup. All three? Well, it’s best not to try.

The pivot position could get a boost with the potential return of Ottawa’s Trevor Harris ($10,622), who is projected to return to the REDBLACKS lineup after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury. While his comeback could alter the impact of running back William Powell ($7,894), the value of receivers Greg Ellingson ($5,847) and Diontae Spencer ($6,537) will be on the upswing as the Ottawa passing game has greatly suffered in Harris’ absence.

Powell comes into the week as the second-rated back behind Harris, as he has put up three straight 100-yard games, including a franchise-record 187 yards in last week’s loss to the Roughriders. The trade of C.J. Gable ($6,920) to Edmonton on Monday makes the former Ticats starter — who ran for 157 yards and two scores last week — an interesting Fantasy option as he lands on an Eskimos team that has not had a runner go over the 60-yard mark in more than two months. Alex Green ($3,500), who ran for 140 yards in Week 14, now becomes the lead back for the Ticats and is a strong option as an RB2.

Zylstra has four straight games of double-digit Fantasy production and is second only to Ellingson in receiving yards with 1,134 yards despite scoring just three majors this season. Teammate Derel Walker ($7,774) has 23 catches for 267 yards and a score in his first three games back with Edmonton and also merits WR1 status against an Alouettes defence that has struggled during their seven-game losing streak. The Saskatchewan duo of Bakari Grant ($4,755) and Duron Carter ($5,381) also rank in the Top 10 this week as they face Toronto.

Hamilton is also represented well at receiver, with Luke Tasker ($5,576) and Jalen Saunders ($3,885) in the Top 11 at the position.

Defensively, the Blue Bombers ($5,307) should be a good play against the Tiger-Cats, yet the Edmonton defence ($3,589) is a good value as they on a struggling Montreal offence in a battle of teams seeking to snap long losing streaks.
