Marquee Matchup: Season series on the line for Ticats, Argos

TORONTO — Another chapter of the rivalry between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts will be written in this week’s Marquee Matchup.

The winner of Saturday night’s game at Tim Hortons Field will take the season series, and the bragging rights, between these two East Division foes. Toronto won the first matchup 32-15 back in Week 1 while Hamilton took the second in the Labour Day Classic, 24-22.

Toronto sits on top of the East while Hamilton is six points back in third.

A win for Toronto keeps them at the top. A Tiger-Cats victory? The gap starts to shrink.

Since June Jones took over as head coach, the Ticats have won three of their last four games. Jones has changed Hamilton’s offence by adding Jeremiah Masoli behind centre and transitioning Brandon Banks from return-man to receiver. It’s worked so far but can the Tabbies continue this week?

The Argos, on the other hand, have been solid throughout the 2017 season with Ricky Ray and his pass-attack the star of the show. But two weeks ago it was Toronto’s run game that came alive, as James Wilder Jr. took over and helped his team to two-straight wins.

In this week’s CFL.ca Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup, we’ll see which rival will come out on top. Who are you taking?

Pick Trend

The fans are siding towards Toronto winning this one but don’t count out the Tiger-Cats if history is any indication.

Since Tim Hortons Field became the new home of the Ticats, the Argos have never won a regular season or playoff game there.

Will this be the first win for Toronto at the Donut Box or will the Ticats continue their dominance against their rivals at home?
