TORONTO — Three starts into his return to the lineup, Jonathon Jennings has done little to dispel any talk of a quarterback controversy in BC.
The Lions will have to let that stir for a couple of weeks as the team heads into a Week 11 bye, meaning it may feel like a long wait for Travis Lulay and especially Jennings before the team’s next game on Sept. 8.

Elsewhere, Jeremiah Masoli joins the equation this week as we wait for the Ticats to name their starter, while Mike Reilly, Bo Levi Mitchell and Matt Nichols continue their firm grip of the top three spots.
Week 11 brings more of the same in the QB Index, for now, but Mark’s Labour Day Weekend could spark plenty of movement in a week’s time.
Onward and upward for Week 11:
MIKE REILLY EDM
THIS WEEK: 1 | LAST WEEK: 1
Reilly gets a mulligan after his worst performance of the season in Week 10, which included a pair of pick-sixes and a season-low 160 passing yards. He enters Labour Day in big need of a bounce back after throwing seven interceptions (including three multi-pick games) over his last five outings.
BO LEVI MITCHELL CGY
THIS WEEK: 2 | LAST WEEK: 2
While the reigning MOP could no longer hide the pain in Week 10, an achy throwing arm wasn’t enough to stop Mitchell from enjoying one of his best statistical outputs of the 2017 season. A first-half pick-six aside, Mitchell was just about perfect in a 23-7 win over the Argos.
MATT NICHOLS WPG
THIS WEEK: 3 | LAST WEEK: 3
If you handed out Most Outstanding Player today, one could make a strong case for the quarterback of the 7-2 Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Nichols is full credit for the team’s five-game winning streak and will look to keep it going in back-to-back games against the Roughriders.

RICKY RAY TOR
THIS WEEK: 4 | LAST WEEK: 4
While Ricky Ray has had an enjoyable 2017 season, the Calgary Stampeders continue to be his Kryptonite. The 37-year-old threw for just 220 yards and failed to find the end zone in the Argos’ 23-7 loss. Still, Ray ranks second in the CFL in passing and has the Argos in first place heading into Labour Day.
KEVIN GLENN SSK
THIS WEEK: 5 | LAST WEEK: 5
With 16 touchdowns and 2,344 yards in eight games, Kevin Glenn is on pace to set career highs in every major statistical category for a quarterback. More importantly, he’s got the Riders on the brink of contention in the West heading into Labour Day.
TREVOR HARRIS OTT
THIS WEEK: 6 | LAST WEEK: 6
The numbers haven’t been an issue this season for Trevor Harris and now he’s putting up wins. Harris and the REDBLACKS have won two straight and are back in contention in the East, where they could take over first place as soon as this weekend with a win over the Als.
TRAVIS LULAY BC
THIS WEEK: 7 | LAST WEEK: NOT RANKED
After a late interception ended what would have been the biggest comeback in CFL history, Wally Buono stated that Travis Lulay is likely to start in Week 12 following the Lions’ bye. Some will call it a QB controversy but that may not be accurate as Lulay has had a decisive edge over Jennings in 2017.
JONATHON JENNINGS BC
THIS WEEK: 8 | LAST WEEK: 7
Perhaps some time on the bench is what’s best for 25-year-old Jonathon Jennings. No one is doubting the natural ability or the arm talent but something seems off for the kid in 2017. Jennings was pulled on Saturday after failing to generate a touchdown in a half of action.

DARIAN DURANT MTL
THIS WEEK: 9 | LAST WEEK: 8
Durant responded nicely following a disastrous Week 9, although two interceptions proved costly in an eventual overtime loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He’s the first QB to reach double-digit picks and until he can protect the football, the Als will have trouble winning consistently.
ZACH COLLAROS HAM
THIS WEEK: 10 | LAST WEEK: 9
A bye week and a coaching shakeup have occurred since Collaros was pulled in the second half of a Week 9 loss to the Ottawa REDBLACKS. Now the question will be who starts on Labour Day as June Jones makes his first big decision as head coach of the Ticats.
JEREMIAH MASOLI HAM
THIS WEEK: 11 | LAST WEEK: NOT RANKED
Masoli showed a spark off the bench for the ‘Cats in Week 9, but was it enough for the team to consider a full-time change under centre? We’ll find out this week as the team searches for win No. 1 of the season against the Argos on Labour Day Monday.
