Fantasy football’s most expensive player paid off in Week 7. Eskimos pivot Mike Reilly came through with 35.8 points in a win over the Ticats, in a week in which quarterbacks struggled.
Without him on the roster, Conmen wouldn’t have put up the 118.5 points that were necessary to lead the field this week in TSN CFL Fantasy.
While the risk paid off, Reilly wasn’t the only reason for the big week. See Conmen’s roster:
A low-cost gamble on Martese Jackson (6.7 points) didn’t make anyone rich but provided a modest return on investment for the minimum price of $2,500. William Powell’s 19.5 points more than made up for the lack of a big play by Jackson as the REDBLACKS running back racked up 115 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown vs. the Bombers.
At receiver, Conmen didn’t break the bank at any one spot but instead opted for balance. And in the end, not one receiver selected produced fewer than 12.8 points, with Vidal Hazelton (12.8), Bryan Burnham (19.1) and Ryan Lankford (17) combining for 48.9 points.
Finally, the Eskimos’ defence came up with a four-sack, one-interception performance, although some late points for the Ticats led to only five fantasy points in all.
