TORONTO — The BC Lions return home from a three-game eastern road trip with three wins in their back pocket as they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night.
Travis Lulay stepped in for the injured Jonathon Jennings last week in Hamilton and led his Lions to victory with a record-setting performance. If Jennings isn’t ready to return to the field, Lulay will look to keep his hot hand rolling at BC Place.
Lulay will have a challenge this week with the Bombers’ ball-hawking defence that leads the league in interceptions with six – four of those courtesy of defensive back T.J. Heath. Keeping Winnipeg’s stingy defence in check will be important for BC and their offence to securing two points.
Winnipeg’s Matt Nichols will hope to continue his balanced attack through the air and on the ground this week. Running back Andrew Harris had two touchdowns to go along with 81 yards on 17 carries last week and receiver Weston Dressler leads the team with 309 yards and two touchdowns so far this season.
With a win, the Lions will tie the Esks for first in the West and the Bombers could pass Calgary for third.
In this week’s CFL.ca Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup, we’ll find out if the BC Lions nab their fourth win of the season or will the Winnipeg Blue Bombers move up the standings in the West? Who are you taking?
