TORONTO — When DeVier Posey caught a touchdown late in Saturday night’s contest against the Ottawa REDBLACKS, he helped move Argos quarterback Ricky Ray into elite company.
With that major score, Ray became the sixth quarterback in CFL history to hit 300 passing touchdowns. He’s only behind Anthony Calvillo (455), Damon Allen (394), Henry Burris (373), Ron Lancaster (333) and Matt Dunigan (303).
This week when the Argos head to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers, Ray has the chance to surpass Dunigan into fifth if he continues on his league-leading path. So far this season, Ray has collected 1199 passing yards – good for first in the league – and four touchdowns.
| Quarterback | Touchdowns |
| Anthony Calvillo | 455 |
| Damon Allen | 394 |
| Henry Burris | 373 |
| Ron Lancaster | 333 |
| Matt Dunigan | 303 |
| Ricky Ray | 300 |
Ray’s most productive season in terms of major scores through the air was in 2003 when the 37-year-old was in Edmonton as a member of the Eskimos. The pivot found the end zone 35 times on his way to winning the Grey Cup. His next best season was in 2014 (28) with the Toronto Argonauts.
Here’s a look at who Ray targeted for each of those scores over his illustrious career so far:
