The Canadian Press

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Friday that they have re-signed international free agent running back Anthony Allen.

Allen spent two seasons with the Riders as a starting tailback, filling the void left by former Grey Cup MVP Kory Sheets.  In two seasons with the Riders, Allen rushed for just over 1,500 yards and 8 touchdowns on 261 carries.  He also added 314 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air.

Last season, Allen joined BC where he split time with Jeremiah Johnson in the Lions backfield.  He posted 436 yards and 3 touchdowns on 87 carries with the Lions.  He became a free agent on February 14th.
