TORONTO — As a CFL fan, there’s a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend.
What could be better than a Saturday afternoon matchup between two teams battling it out for position in the West and the return of TSN’s Live Mic Broadcasts?
The Lions pay a visit to Winnipeg in this week’s Marquee Matchup. BC sits just two points ahead of the Blue Bombers in second place in the West Division. A win for the Bombers puts them into a tie for the second spot. A win – or a tie – for the Lions clinches a playoff spot for the 20th straight season.
BC is hot off of an offence riddled contest – over 1000 yards of offence to be exact – last week against the REDBLACKS. Jonathon Jennings threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns while splitting his targets between eight different receivers. The Lions have won four of their last five contests while cruising to a 9-4 record.
Winnipeg, meanwhile, has dropped their last two games since having their seven game winning streak snapped in Week 13. You can be sure the Bombers will come out firing on all cylinders when they hit the turf at Investors Group Field.
And best of all, TSN will take you inside the huddle to listen in on the West Division foes as the game unfolds. Six different players and coaches will be wearing mics including Winnipeg quarterback Matt Nichols, defensive end Trent Corney and head coach Mike O’Shea, along with BC pivot Jennings, bench boss Wally Buono and linebacker Solomon Elimimian.
Can the Lions clinch a playoff spot? Or will the Bombers snap their two-game skid and challenge BC for second place? All these questions and more in this week’s CFL Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup.

In the first meeting of the season between the Lions and the Bombers, it’s really anyone’s guess who will come out on top.
The fans are almost split down the middle but the visiting team holds a slight edge with 53 percent of them leaning towards the Lions. Who could blame them, as the Lions boast one of the most potent offences in the league, especially on the ground. BC holds the top spot in rushing yards with 1,396 and are tied for first in rushing touchdowns with the Stampeders (17).
Jennings and co. will have their hands full on Saturday as Winnipeg’s defence has been dangerous all season long and is leading the league in both interceptions (22) and forced fumbles (20).

While the fans aren’t so sure who will come out on top this week, the CFL.ca writers seem to be certain as five of six of them are siding with BC.
Only Pat Steinberg has chosen the Bombers to win this week, but he has a very good chance of being right. Matt Nichols led his team to a 7-0 record since taking over the starting role and it’s only a matter of time before he starts leading them down the winning path again.
