MONTREAL – The lead up to the National Combine presented by adidas continues on Wednesday, as the second of three regional combines kicks off at Montreal’s Concordia University.
Laval defensive back Jean-Philippe Bolduc headlines a list of 45 players hoping to put on their best display of talent and athleticism, at stake a trip to Toronto for the National Combine from March 11-13.
The annual week of testing, which culminates Sunday at the University of Toronto, marks one of the busiest times on the CFL off-season calendar as approximately 165 of the country’s top amateur football players compete in four different combines. In mind: the opportunity to be drafted at the 2016 CFL Draft in May.

Bolduc, a 25-year-old from Montreal, is one player to keep an eye on according to CFL.ca’s Justin Dunk. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defender was also invited to the NFL Regional Combine in Baltimore on Feb. 27 following a five-year university career with the Rouge et Or.
Wednesday’s regional combine will also include two national/international free agents who play in the CIS – none of whom will be eligible for the draft and therefore cannot receive an invitation to the National Combine.
The most impressive performers, meanwhile, will earn a trip to Toronto for a closer look, joining five players extended an invitation from Monday’s Edmonton Regional Combine.
The action officially kicks off at 8:30am with measurements, the vertical jump and the bench press, then at 10am players will perform the broad jump, 40-yard dash, short shuttle and three-cone drill. Positional drills and one-on-ones start at 1pm, before the day wraps up at approximately 3:15pm with the announcement of players invited to Toronto.
After Wednesday’s testing in Quebec, it all picks up again on Thursday with the third and final regional combine in Toronto. Then on Friday starts three days of testing at the National Combine in Toronto. All of this week’s combine participants can be found here.
