WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up a key part of their offensive line, agreeing to a contract extension with left tackle Stanley Bryant that will keep him in Winnipeg through 2017.
Bryant joined the Bombers in February of 2015, signing a free agent contract with the team months after winning the first Grey Cup Championship of his career as a member of the Calgary Stampeders in 2014. He started every game for the Bombers in 2015 at left tackle.
Previous to joining Winnipeg, Bryant spent five seasons with the Stampeders and was a CFL and West Division All-Star in 2013 and 2014. In six seasons in the CFL, Bryant has played and started in 84 career CFL games. He has played in two Grey Cups, winning in 2014 with the Stamps.

Bryant was not due to become a free agent on Feb. 9 as he was already under contract for the 2016 season. The Bombers have the fewest pending free agents in the CFL with only 12 players on their roster set to hit the open market.
