Aerial assaults were down across the league in Week 4. Two of the top pivots in the league managed 165 and 127 yards through the air respectively. And quarterbacks threw just as many interceptions as touchdowns (9-9). There were certainly more gritty efforts than sparkling ones, so let’s get to the QB Scorecard and rank the performances.
1) Rakeem Cato, Alouettes
Week 4 stats: 23-34, 264 yards, 1 TD
Cato made some tantalizing throws outside the pocket while putting together a noteworthy game against one of the hardest defences to face in the league.
2) Drew Willy, Blue Bombers
Week 4 stats: 22-27, 289 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
No. 5 hit some impressive deep shots on a veteran Stampeders secondary – Willy played well enough for a win.
3) Travis Lulay, Lions
Week 4 stats: 12-21, 127 yards, 2 TD; 6 carries, 105 rushing yards
Forget quarterback rankings, Lulay put forth a top-five running back effort in Week 4. Oh yeah, he threw two touchdowns in a tough place to win on the road, too.
4) Bo Levi Mitchell, Stampeders
Week 4 stats: 12-21, 165 yards, 1 TD
Despite Mitchell not having an overly productive outing, he made some completions at crucial moments.
5) Kevin Glenn, Roughriders
Week 4 stats: 24-39, 360 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Saskatchewan’s late-game rally was too little, too late. However, Glenn does look very comfortable in Jacques Chapdelaine’s offensive system.
6) Matt Nichols, Eskimos
Week 4 stats: 18-33, 242 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
A perfectly dropped-in, 63-yard touchdown pass to Kendial Lawrence was the lone bright spot in a rather ugly outing.
7) Zach Collaros, Ticats
Week 4 stats: 27-42, 296 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
Two first-half interceptions held Collaros and the Ticats’ offence back in Montreal.
8) Henry Burris, Redblacks
Week 4 stats: 29-39, 252 yards, 1 INT
With all the weaponry around him, Hank he simply has to be better.
