QB Scorecard and Starters: Cato ranks high after debut

THE CANADIAN PRESS

Week 2 saw plenty of strong play from quarterbacks around the league. Trevor Harris and Kevin Glenn provided an exciting shootout in the Prairies, Zach Collaros put on an aerial show in Winnipeg, Rakeem Cato burst onto the CFL scene and Henry Burris looked more like a 30-year-old than 40. Let’s get to the QB Scorecard and rank the performances.

1) Trevor Harris, Argos
Week 2 stats: 30-38, 267 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT

Harris willed the Argos to an improbable win in the toughest place to get a road victory in the CFL.

2) Zach Collaros, Ticats
Week 2 stats: 26-33, 354 yards, 2 TDs

Hamilton’s pivot carved up the Bombers’ secondary with relative ease.

3) Rakeem Cato, Alouettes
Week 2 stats: 20-25, 241 yards, 3 TDs

The 23-year-old rookie efficiently kept Montreal’s offence moving in his first CFL start and stunned the 2014 Grey Cup champs.

4) Kevin Glenn, Riders
Week 2 stats: 33-40, 477 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT

If not for a game-changing pick-six thrown by Glenn, he likely leads Saskatchewan to a ‘W’ and could’ve topped the list.

5) Henry Burris, REDBLACKS
Week 2 stats: 23-29, 296 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT

Hank spread the ball around to seven different receivers – a rapport seems to be growing between Burris and all his new targets. Although, it must be noted that a couple dropped interceptions were nearly very costly.

6) Travis Lulay, Lions
Week 2 stats: 18-32, 254 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

Lulay’s right arm looked strong, which is a positive for BC moving forward.

7) Bo Levi Mitchell, Stampeders
Week 2 stats: 19-31, 244 yards

Calgary’s gunslinger did not look like his normal self in La Belle Province.

8) Brian Brohm, Bombers
Week 2 stats: 16-28, 146 yards, 2 INTs

Brohm looked shaky when he first came off the bench, but he seemed to improve as the game went along.

9) Drew Willy, Bombers
Week 2 stats: 3-6, 48 yards, 1 INT

A protection gaffe played a major role in Willy getting knocked out of the game.
