TORONTO – Linebacker Byron Archambault has been selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the second round with the 17th overall pick. The Tiger-Cats traded their first round pick (8) to the Alouettes earlier in the eveing.
His nine quarterback sacks last season were good enough for second-most in the CIS. In addition, Archambault also forced a fumble while recording 49.5 tackles.![]()
His talents were on full display at the CFL Combine, posting the best scores in the bench press and shuttle events outright along with being the fastest linebacker in the 3-cone drill.
Archambault was named a RSEQ all-star and RSEQ Defensive Player of the Year along with being named to the CIS first-team all-Canadian roster. He was a member of Team East in the East-West Bowl but did not participate due to injury.
