TORONTO — Among the 20 names released in Friday’s CFL Scouting Bureau rankings, Brandon Bridge’s may stand out the most.

The Mississauga Ont. native has ascended rapidly among the draft ranks, but more noteworthy than that is the position he plays. For the first time in Scouting Bureau history, a quarterback cracked the Top 20.

The third edition of the rankings was released on Friday, listing the top 20 prospects for the final time before the May 12 CFL Draft. But while offensive and defensive linemen are often most popular on these lists, never since its establishment in September, 2008 has a quarterback made the cut.

Bridge is considered an athletic quarterback with a big arm and plenty of long-term potential, and it’ll be interesting to see where, if drafted, he lands at the CFL Draft.
