Earlier on Wednesday, CFC #6 Jonathan Femi-Cole officially signed with NCAA FBS team, Minnesota Gophers.
The 5’11, 218 pound running back from Vaughan Ontario chose the Gophers while there on a visit back in July.
The Gophers were the first school that offered the CFC TOP 100 close to a year ago (February 20th). Femi-Cole has received others from the University of Buffalo Bulls and the University of Nevada Wolfpack.
Femi-Cole recently completed his high school career with St. Andrew’s College Saints of the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA).
Ultimately, today’s signing is a dream realized for the Ontario running back.
“Growing up you dream about going D1, growing up in Canada that dream is a lot more far-fetched,” said Femi-Cole. “But the fact that I am living this dream and I have been given the opportunity to play for a great program and coaching staff is something that I can’t even put into words.”
