By the numbers: Roughing up the Riders

A closer look at the numbers from Sunday’s 28-3 win over Saskatchewan, presented by MNP.

1 – Career CFL games played by Linden Gaydosh, the first overall pick in the 2013 CFL Draft, after making his debut on Sunday.

1 – Career interceptions recorded by Canadian cornerback Courtney Stephen, who picked off a pass in the first quarter of Sunday’s win.

2 – 50+ yard field goals kicked by Justin Medlock.  The veteran kicker connected from 50 and 51 yards to open the scoring.

2 – Number of times the Tiger-Cats have limited the Riders to three points in their last three visits to Hamilton.  The Black and Gold beat Saskatchewan 33-3 on July 26, 2011.

2 – Touchdowns scored by receiver Luke Tasker.  The second-year Tiger-Cat doubled his career total on Sunday after scoring two touchdowns in 13 previous games.

3 – Number of Ticats that have returned a punt for a touchdown.  Terrell Sinkfield joined Brandon Banks and Quincy McDuffie on Sunday.

5 – Different players that sacked Roughriders QB Tino Sunseri; Brian Bulcke, Bryan Hall, Ted Laurent, Eric Norwood and Taylor Reed.

11 – Passes caught by Andy Fantuz, the second-highest total of his career.

10.1 – Average yards gained by the Ticats on punt returns this season, by far the best mark in the CFL.

43% – Sunseri’s completion percentage.  The Tiger-Cats ‘D’ limited him to nine completions on 21 attempts.

12.3 – Average number of first downs surrendered by the Tiger-Cats defence over their last three games.

100 – Percentage of games played at Tim Hortons Field that have resulted in a Tiger-Cats win.

109.4 – Zach Collaros’ quarterback rating on Sunday.  Not bad.

151 – Punt return yards recorded by Terrell Sinkfield in his Ticats debut, including a 57-yard scamper to the end zone in the third quarter.

18,135 – Number of fans on hand to witness the Tiger-Cats most complete performance of the season.
