The Tiger-Cats return to Hamilton this week to begin of a two-game home stand against West Division teams at Tim Hortons Field. On Sunday afternoon, the Black and Gold will look to halt the Saskatchewan Roughriders seven-game win streak after letting a first half lead slip away in Montreal last week.
In week 11, Saskatchewan walked away with a 30-24 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Banjo Bowl.

Over the last two weeks, the Ticats defence has statistically been one of the best in the CFL. They’ll face another tough test when the Saskatchewan Roughriders come to town on Sunday afternoon. Last week in Montreal, the Tiger-Cats held their opposition to under 250 net yards for the second consecutive week, and have allowed an average of just 191 yards in the last two games. Facing arguably the league’s top ground game, the Black and Gold know that the battle at the line of scrimmage will be a key part of Sunday’s matchup. Hamilton has allowed a total of 79 yards on the ground on 25 attempts in their last two outings, an average of 3.1 yards per carry. |
The Roughriders announced earlier this week that they’ll be without starting quarterback Durian Durant for the rest of the regular season after the veteran pivot went down with an arm injury against Winnipeg last Sunday. It’s logical to assume that the Riders will rely heavily on their league leading rushing attack that averages 150.7 yards per game. The Riders backfield features a handful of backs that have all been named CFL Offensive Player of the Week this year. In week one vs. the Tiger-Cats, Riders rookie Anthony Allen had 28 carries for 158 yards and a touchdown. |

Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros has shown no sign of rust since returning to the lineup in week 11 and has put together two of his best performances as a starter. Here’s a look at what he has done…
PLAYERS TO WATCH
WR Greg Ellingson: Last week in Montreal, Ticats receiver Greg Ellingson led the team with five receptions for 94 yards. In the Tiger-Cats last three games, Ellingson has compiled 240 yards on just 16 receptions – an average of 15 yards per catch.
DL Linden Gaydosh: Ticats newcomer Linden Gaydosh will make his CFL debut on Sunday afternoon. Gaydosh, who was selected first overall by Hamilton in the Tiger-Cats in the 2013 CFL Draft, spent last season on the injured reserve with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers before being released by the team on August 23. Look for Gaydosh to see action on defence and special teams on Sunday.
KR/WR Terrell Sinkfield: One of the Ticats newest editions to the roster, Terrell Sinkfield, will make his Ticats debut on Sunday afternoon vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Sinkfield, who signed with the team on September 4, had seven receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown and returned 11 kickoffs for 240 yards in three games with the Argonauts before being released.
