The Tiger-Cats have boosted their Canadian content with the addition of national defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh, the first overall pick in the 2013 CFL Draft.
Gaydosh, a 6-4, 290-pound native of Peace River, Alberta attended training camp with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers last month after spending last season on their injured reserve list.
In four seasons at the University of Calgary, Gaydosh recorded 90.5 tackles, six quarterback sacks and 14 tackles for a loss while starting all but one game on the defensive line. He is a two-time Canada West All-Star and was named a second-team CIS All-Canadian in 2011.
While helping the Dinos capture four consecutive Canada West championships, Gaydosh was awarded the Peter Gorman Trophy as the top rookie in Canadian university football in 2009 and the defensive MVP of the 2010 Hardy Cup.
The Ticats also announced that international receiver Terrell Sinkfield has been added to the practice roster.
Sinkfield, a 6-0, 200-pound native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, played in three games with the Toronto Argonauts, catching seven passes for 90 yards and one touchdown before he was released on August 26.
The Northern Iowa product previously spent time with the NFL’s New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins.
