We wanted to provide you an update on the latest status of the Labour Day Classic at Tim Hortons Field on Monday, September 1.
ONSS, the builders of the new Stadium, continue to work diligently to meet the occupancy permit requirements to host the Labour Day Classic. The building inspection process is ongoing and will be completed later this week. The final decision will be made by the City of Hamilton and public safety is the main priority.
Given the significance of the Labour Day Classic to our fans, partners, team and our community, the Tiger-Cats are committed to pursuing all possible options within our control to ensure the game is played at Tim Hortons Field on Monday. Should an occupancy permit be granted, the Ticats organization is focused on delivering the best fan experience possible. We will communicate specific details about the stadium experience in the coming days.
In recognizing the inspection and game timeline, we want to ensure all fans are aware of potential game options:
Option #1 – Labour Day Classic at Tim Hortons Field – Monday, September 1 at 1 p.m.
- All fans who purchased a ticket for Labour Day are guaranteed a seat at Tim Hortons Field.
- Individuals in displaced seats/sections have been contacted for relocation. If your tickets are located in a displaced section and you haven’t relocated your seats, please contact us at 905 547 – 2287 (CATS) before 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 28. At that time seats will released and your account will be credited for the full value of the tickets.
Option #2 – Tim Hortons Field – Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m.
- In the event the occupancy permit is delayed by a day, the Labour Day game will be moved to Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m. at Tim Hortons Field.
- All tickets issued will remain valid for the game.
- If you are unable to attend on September 2, you will be issued an account credit or refund for the value of your tickets.
Option #3 – Rogers Centre (Toronto) – Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m.
- In the event the occupancy permit is not issued, the game would be relocated to the Rogers Centre on Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m.
- All Labour Day Classic ticket holders will receive complimentary tickets to the game at Rogers Centre equal to the amount of tickets they held at Tim Hortons Field for Labour Day.
- Labour Day ticket purchasers will receive a credit to their account, or a full refund, for the value of any tickets purchased for the Labour Day Classic at Tim Hortons Field whether or not they attend the game at Rogers Centre.
We felt it was important to let you know the options we have contemplated and have in place. But we would emphasize in clear terms that we are doing everything we can as an organization to be playing our game at Tim Hortons Field on Labour Day.
