Head coach Kent Austin has confirmed that third-year quarterback Dan LeFevour will get the start in the Tiger-Cats home opener against the Ottawa REDBLACKS on Saturday night.
Last week in Calgary, LeFevour completed nine of 11 passes for 76 yards in relief of Jeremiah Masoli. He also gained 15 yards on the ground.
This will mark LeFevour’s first start since the completion of his career at Central Michigan in 2009. In four seasons with the Chippewas, he set a FBS record for total touchdowns with 150 (102 passing, 47 rushing, 1 receiving) and became the only player in NCAA history to record 12,000 career passing yards and 2,500 career rushing yards.
