After the Tiger-Cats made a series of ‘fan experience’ announcements at an event earlier this week, TigerTown had plenty of reasons to be excited.
The Ticats had partnered with North America’s top sports and entertainment hospitality company to bring an incredible variety of food and beverage products to Tim Hortons Field. The Caretaker Bob Young made it known that the team would be investing $5 million to improve the fan and player experience at the new stadium. The team will help make parking easier, with over 4,000 spots available within a 12-minute walk.
But the announcement that has generated the most chatter amongst fans has been the Legacy Wall, a monument that will be created to honour each season seat account holder who will be a part of the historic Inaugural Season at Tim Hortons Field.
Fans that purchase their season seats before June 30 will have their name permanently etched onto the Legacy Wall, which will be prominently displayed inside Tim Hortons Field for generations to come.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a part of Tiger-Cats history – an opportunity created to show gratitude for the overwhelming support demonstrated by season seat holders and corporate partners.
“This idea was put forward in response of the great response we received from our season seat holders and partners. We felt the need to honour those who have supported the team in a special way,” said Ticats President and Chief Operating Officer Glenn Gibson.
Gibson also mentioned that the wall will pay tribute to former City of Hamilton councillor Bernie Morelli, who oversaw ward three, where the stadium is housed, for over two decades.
While 11 of 15 sections of the Tim Hortons Field are sold out of season seats, fans can secure their spot on the Legacy Wall and their seat for another exciting season of Ticats football for as low as $240.
