The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has added five import players to their roster: receivers LaMark Brown, Brandon Collins and Rashad Evans as well as running back Mossis Madu and defensive back James Rogers.
Brown, a 6-3, 220-pound native of St. Louis, Missouri,spent four weeks on the Ticats practice roster last season after stints with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. In one season at Minnesota State-Mankato, he caught 31 passes for 405 yards and five touchdowns.
Collins, a 5-11, 185-pound native of Brenham, Texas,split his collegiate career between Southeastern Louisiana and Texas, hauling in a total of 153 passes for 2,051 yards and 12 touchdowns. He spent time with the NFL’s New York Giants in 2012 and 2013.
Evans, a 5-9, 187-pound native of San Francisco, California, caught 138 passes for the 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns in four seasons at Fresno State. He spent two weeks on the Ticats practice roster last season after attending training camp with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
Madu, a 6-0, 197-pound native of Norman, Oklahoma, suited up with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets following his collegiate career at Oklahoma. In four seasons at OU, he had 219 carries for 1,026 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 780 kick return yards with the Sooners.
Rogers, a 6-0, 188-pound native of Detroit, Michigan,saw action with the Tiger-Cats in 2013, recording seven defensive tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception in three games after signing as a free agent on September 13. The Michigan product previously spent time with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos as well as the AFL’s Arizona Rattlers and Kansas City Command.
