Tiger-Cats fans have set a new Purolator Tackle Hunger® record for food collected at a CFL game by donating 220,500 pounds at Monday’s Thanksgiving Day Classic.  Proceeds from the food drive support the Guelph Food Bank.

“The Tiger-Cats would like to thank our fans, our corporate partners, and Nestle Waters for their generous support of the Purolator Tackle Hunger program today,” said President and C.O.O. Glenn Gibson.  “TigerTown has truly embraced the Thanksgiving spirit.  Everyone who donated today should feel proud they were part of this record-breaking effort.”

Now in its 11th year, the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive has helped deliver the equivalent of over 6 million pounds of food since 2003.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the support of Purolator Tackle Hunger, demonstrated today by Hamilton Tiger-Cat fans,” said Ramsey Mansour, Vice President of Marketing, Purolator. “A big thank you goes out to all supporters of this initiative, who have contributed to raising much-needed food for local food banks over the years. This record achievement is one that Purolator is proud to be a part of!”
