Let’s go behind the numbers of Friday’s 33-19 victory over the Toronto Argonauts…
1 – Career touchdowns scored by Tiger-Cats rookie receiver Luke Tasker. Tasker’s 24-yard reception opened the scoring on Friday night.
3 – Quarterbacks in Canadian Football League history who have thrown for more passing yards than Ticats QB Henry Burris. On the first drive of the game, Burris recorded the 50,536th passing yard of his career, moving him past Ron Lancaster for 4th on the CFL’s All-Time list. Burris trails only Anthony Calvillo, Damon Allen and Danny McManus.
5 – Sacks registered by the Tiger-Cats defence. Brandon Isaac (2), Eric Norwood, Brandon Boudreaux and Brian Bulcke made life miserable for Toronto QB Zach Collaros.
5 – Sacks made by Brandon Boudreaux in his last five games.
6 – First-half points surrendered by the Tiger-Cats defence.
7 – Team-leading and career-high tackle total made by defensive back Emanuel Davis. His third quarter stop of Chad Owens at the 3-yard line stifled a promising Argos drive.
10 – Touchdowns scored by rookie RB C.J. Gable this season.
10 – Days between round one and round two of this crucial home-and-home series with the Argonauts. The Ticats host the Double Blue at Alumni Stadium on Monday, October 14 at 4:30 p.m.
15 – Yards traveled by linebacker Simoni Lawrence after making an incredibly athletic tip-turned-interception in the closing minutes of the first half. Lawrence was downed at the Argos three yard line, setting up a Dan LeFevour touchdown just a couple of plays later.
48.5 – Josh Bartel’s punting average on Friday night.
70 – Discrepancy in penalty yards between the Ticats (six penalties for 40 yards) and the Argos (12-110).
100 – Games played by veteran offensive lineman Tim O’Neill.
163 – Return yards registered by Brandon Banks in his CFL debut. Banks ran back five kickoffs for 135 yards (27.0 avg) and four punts for 28 yards (7.0 avg).
.580 – The Tiger-Cats regular season winning percentage versus Toronto since 1950. These two rivals have met 217 times, with the Ticats holding a 124-91-2 advantage.
4,173 – Passing yards thrown by Henry Burris this season – by far the highest total in the CFL. Burris is on pace to throw for 5,365 yards this season, which would be two short of the single-season team record he set last year.
