The Tiger-Cats returned from Moncton with a win after securing a 28-26 decision over the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday.  Let’s go behind the numbers of the Ticats sixth victory of the season…

2 – Receivers who have thrown touchdown passes for the Tiger-Cats this season. Andy Fantuz is now tied with Onrea Jones and quarterback Dan LeFevour with one touchdown pass after tossing a shovel pass to Marc Beswick on a fake field goal in the second quarter.

2 – Wins for the Tiger-Cats in Moncton.  The Ticats are now the winningest team in New Brunswick history!

2 – Tiger-Cats players who recorded their first career quarterback sacks against the Alouettes; defensive tackle Hasan Hazime and safety Neil King.

5 – Ticats players who made their CFL debut on Saturday: DB Kevin Barnes, DE Arnaud Gascon-Nadon, K Brett Lauther, RB Kendial Lawrence and DB James Rogers.

9.2 – Difference in punting average between Josh Bartel (41.6) and Montreal’s Sean Whyte (32.0) on Saturday.

15 – Fourth quarter points scored by the Ticats to secure the come-from-behind win.

47 – Rushing yards allowed by the Ticats in the win

52 – Years since the Tiger-Cats and Alouettes waited this long to begin their season series.  The first Ticats-Als meeting of 1961 came on September 23, and that took place in a year where the CFL season didn’t begin until August 7.

60 – Yards traveled by rookie Kendial Lawrence the first time he touched the ball.  Lawrence returned a kickoff to the Alouettes 46-yard line to give the Tiger-Cats outstanding field position.  

62 – Rushing yards for quarterback Dan LeFevour, the highest total of any player in Saturday’s game. LeFevour also scored one of the Ticats two touchdowns on a 1-yard plunge.

73 – Receiving yards for Onrea Jones – a season high. Jones also recovered an onside kick in the fourth quarter and returned a punt 15 yards.

169 – Passing yards needed by Henry Burris to pass Ron Lancaster (50,535) for fourth place on the CFL’s All-Time Passing Yards list.

256 – Regular season meetings between Hamilton and Montreal since 1907.  Hamilton holds a 130-117-9 edge.

100% – Field goal percentage of rookie kicker Brett Lauther in his CFL debut. Lauther connected on all four of his field goal attempts and added two extra points.
