![]() Tiger-Cats running back C.J. Gable has found his groove over the last six games. Gable has been a complimentary piece of the Ticats offence, contributing to both the run and pass game, while also adding an occasional spark as a returner. Gable currently leads the Ticats and ranks second in the CFL in touchdowns with nine, only one score behind CFL leader Jon Cornish (10). In the each of the last six games, he has compiled 100+ combined yards. Last week against the Calgary Stampeders, Gable recorded 108 receiving yards for the second consecutive week, while also setting a career-high with 161 combined yards. |
Canadian linebacker Shea Emry, a 2012 CFL All-Star selection, has recorded 26 defensive tackles, two interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery in 11 games this season. Last week in B.C., the Richmond, B.C native had a season-high five defensive tackles in part of the Alouettes defence holding Lions running back Andrew Harris to just 68 yards rushing. RETURN TO MONCTON
The Tiger-Cats return to Moncton for this year’s NAPA Touchdown Atlantic against the Montreal Alouettes. In the Ticats last visit to Moncton in 2011, they recorded a 55-36 victory over the Calgary Stampeders. In that game the Tiger-Cats…
- Had 383 yards of net offence.
- Compiled a total of 275 returns yards.
- Kevin Glenn was 16-of-23 passing for 276 yards and three touchdowns.
- Scored three rushing touchdown (Q.Porter, A.Cobourne, & T.Grant)
- Marcus Thigpen led the team in receiving with six receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
BRETT LAUTHER
Earlier this week, head coach Kent Austin announced that rookie kicker Brett Lauther will take on the team’s place kicking duties against Montreal. Lauther, a product of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, was selected in the seventh round (53rd overall) in the 2013 CFL Draft. Lauther led the AUS in field goals in his senior season, hitting 16-of-20 attempts.
NEIL KING
Neil King has been a solid fixture for the Ticats on special teams in his four CFL appearances. This week vs. Montreal, King will get his chance to shine at safety in his first Canadian Football League start with Courtney Stephen out with a leg injury. Last week in Calgary, the rookie accounted for five tackles (three defensive, two on special teams).
ANDY FANTUZ
Since returning from injury in week 8, Canadian receiver Andy Fantuz has had 373 yards on 26 receptions (14.3 yards/reception) and has found the end zone in each of the last two games. Fantuz continues to play a major role in the Ticats offence as one of Henry Burris’ sure-handed targets, recording 4+ receptions in all six games he’s appeared in this season.
OTHER NEWS AND NOTES
- Henry Burris completed 80.2 percent of his passes for 967 yards and 10 touchdowns in three games vs. Montreal in 2012. In two of those games, Burris passed for 300+ yards – 360 in week 4 & 326 in week 14.
- Rookie receiver Greg Ellingson leads the Ticats and ranks second in the league among pass catchers with 51 receptions for 800 yards and six touchdowns, no other first-year player ranks in the top 12 receivers in 2013.
- Canadian LB Marc Beswick currently ranks second all-time in Ticats history in special teams tackles with 103. Beswick leads the CFL with 16 special teams tackles.
- Henry Burris has thrown for 300+ yards in five straight games and 8 of 11 games this season. He threw for 300+ yards in eight games last year. Burris also leads the league in passing with 3,589 passing yards – 802 yards more than the next quarterback, B.C’s Travis Lulay (2,787).
- Last week Hamilton outgained Calgary 476 yards to 391 posting a 2013 season-high offence by any club against Calgary. It was Hamilton’s highest output of the year
and their seventh straight 300+ yard passing total as a team. - Only one team has posted seven straight 300-yard passing games since 2004 (Montréal 8 in a row in 2012).
- Henry Burris, who recorded his third 400-yard passing game as a Ticat last week, is 344 yards shy of passing Ron Lancaster for fourth on the CFL’s all-time passing list.
- Henry Burris will be making his 180th career CFL start (95-81-3, 11-9 vs Montréal).
