Ticats Sign WR/KR Dexter Jackson

The Tiger-Cats announced today that import receiver/kick returner Dexter Jackson has joined the team’s practice roster.

Jackson, a 5-10, 182-pound native of Decatur, Georgia, was selected in the second round (58th overall) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2008 NFL Draft after four seasons at Appalachian State.  Jackson returned 14 kickoffs for 327 yards and 20 punts for 97 yards in seven games with the Buccaneers before stints with the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets and the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers.

In 29 games with Appalachian State, Jackson caught 60 passes for 1,137 yards and 13 touchdowns and returned 63 punts for 468 yards.

The Ticats also announced that non-import receiver Glenn MacKay has been released.
