The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club of the Canadian Football League is pleased to announce Glenn Gibson as their new President and Chief Operating Officer.
Scott Mitchell, who will become the team’s Chief Executive Officer, announced that Gibson will be responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the Tiger-Cats organization after consulting for the team over the last two years.
Gibson was born and raised in Hamilton, spending his youth just a few blocks from Ivor Wynne Stadium.
“As we move into a new and exciting period in the Hamilton sports and entertainment landscape, we are incredibly fortunate to find an international business leader of Glenn Gibson’s skill and experience to run the business operations of the Tiger-Cats. A true Hamiltonian, Glenn’s incredible career and business acumen speak for themselves. He will be a tremendous addition as the leader of our talented business operations staff,” remarked Mitchell. “With Glenn running the business side and Kent Austin running the football operations, we believe we have an outstanding structure to lead the way during this exciting era in Tiger-Cats history.”
“The City of Hamilton is experiencing incredible growth. This is an amazing opportunity to ensure the iconic brand of the Tiger-Cats is integrated into all of this activity,” said Gibson, who has previously held titles with Crawford & Company, the largest claims administration firm in the world, as Chief Executive Officer of Canada and more recently as Global Chief Strategy Officer.
“With an organization led by Kent Austin, Glenn Gibson and Scott Mitchell, the quality of our leadership is truly world class. With this outstanding leadership group coupled with the arrival of the beautiful new Tim Hortons Field, this coming decade will be a great time to be a Tiger-Cat fan,” said Bob Young, Tiger-Cats caretaker.
