Tiger-Cats Release Knowlton, Two Others

The Tiger-Cats have released import linebacker Markeith Knowlton as well as import defensive backs Terrance Parks and James Patrick.

Regarding the release of Knowlton, Tiger-Cats Head Coach and General Manager Kent Austin said, “Markeith has been a respected member of our team during his time in Hamilton and his accomplishments are well documented. We’d like to thank Markeith for his contributions and wish him success in the future.”

After arriving in a April 30, 2008 trade with the BC Lions, Knowlton made 367 defensvie tackles, 12 quarterback sacks and 12 interceptions in 83 regular season games with the Ticats.  He was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2010 and was included as a member of the All-Time Tiger-Cats team during last year’s Final Season of Ivor Wynne Stadium celebrations.

Parks recorded five defensive tackles in two appearances during his rookie season.

Patrick registered 12 defensive tackles and four special teams tackles in three games this year.  He joined the Ticats as a free agent on January 25.
