TORONTO — With the seventh overall pick of the first round in the 2013 CFL Draft, the Calgary Stampeders selected UTEP offensive lineman Brander Craighead.
Craighead, 22, was ranked in two of this year’s three Scouting Bureau Top 15 rankings, peaking at the 13 spot on the September list. The redshirt Junior started every game (four at right tackle, eight at left tackle) for the Miners in 2011.
He also helped them rank fourth nationally in long plays of 70+ yards (four) and sixth in plays of 60+ yards (seven).
The Ottawa, ON native did not attend the 2013 CFL Combine.
