Today, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats presented a cheque for over $25,000 to the Ivor Wynne Community Fund, a cooperative effort with the City of Hamilton that will be used to develop community projects within the stadium neighbourhood.
Funds were generated from the Ivor Wynne Stadium memorabilia sale. Following the Ivor Wynne finale last season, fans purchased one-of-a-kind items including sectional signage, gate signage, press box and Hall of Fame club seats, Wall of Honour boards and stadium seating.
“Congratulations to everyone in TigerTown who purchased these great items and helped raise money for this important community. This contribution to the Ivor Wynne Community Fund is an example of our positive partnerships with our fans and with the City of Hamilton. We look forward to continuing these partnerships as we work together to develop the neighborhood and the new stadium,” said President Scott Mitchell.
Ivor Wynne Stadium proudly served the Hamilton community and was home to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats beginning in 1950.
