After setting the Canadian Football League record for most kick return touchdowns in a single season during the Labour Day Classic, Tiger-Cats receiver Chris Williams has once again been named the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week. This is the Williams’ third consecutive Player of the Week award and fourth this season.
In the first quarter Monday’s Labour Day Classic, Williams returned a punt 82 yards for his sixth kick return touchdown of the season, setting a the CFL single-season mark in just nine games. Williams finished the day with a 31.6 yard per return average after registering 158 yards on five returns.
Williams is currently averaging an incredible 18 yards per punt return while leading the CFL with 11 total touchdowns.
