The five head coach nominees for the All-Time Tiger-Cats vote presented by AM 900 CHML have been unveiled.
AL BRUNO
Bruno coached the Tiger-Cats from 1983-1990, appearing in 120 games over that eight season span. He led the Black and Gold to a record of 56-61-3 in his time at the helm, and a 7-7 playoff record. In 1986 Bruno’s Tiger-Cats won their first Grey Cup in 14 years and Bruno was awarded the Annis Stukus Coach Of The Year award.
RON LANCASTER
One of the most popular coaches in Ticats history, Lancaster led the team from 1998-2003, coaching 108 games over that time. In 1998 and 1999, Lancaster’s Tiger-Cats faced Calgary in the Grey Cup, winning it all in 1999. After the team went 2-16 in 1997, Lancaster joined the Ticats and led them to a 12-5-1 record and a Grey Cup berth in 1998, earning him Coach Of The Year honours.
RALPH SAZIO
One of the most successful coaches in Ticats history, Sazio coached the team from 1963-1967, leading the team to a record of 49-20-1 over that span. Under Sazio’s direction the team went 10-5 in the post season, winning three Grey Cups in four appearances.
JIM TRIMBLE
Trimble coached the team from 1956-1962, compiling a record of 60-36 in the regular season. Trimble led the team to five Grey Cup appearances, winning it all once. Trimble was named the Coach Of The Year in 1961 was the Tiger-Cats went 10-4, winning the East Division title.
CARL VOYLES
Voyles led the team from 1950-1955, compiling a 48-27-1 record over that time. Voyles led the team to one Grey Cup in his only appearance in the big game, and a 6-9 postseason record overall.
